Two Student Cult Leaders Nabbed For Murder
Two students of the Ondo State-owned Rufus Giwa Polytechnic, Owo, who are said to be notorious cult leaders, Jimoh Fidelis and Dare Wale, have been arrested by Police detectives for murder.
Acting on security reports, detectives from the ‘B’ Division in Owo swooped on the cult members at their hideout.
Police source said the two students, who have succeeded in initiating many others into the Aiye secret cult on campus, are notorious leaders of the group.
Vanguard learnt that the bubble bursted when the killing of one Adedoja Olawale was traced to the two cult leaders.
They reportedly led the gang that murdered the victim at the gate of a popular hotel in Owo.
Police investigation showed that the students have made confessional statement and would soon be charged for murder.
In another development, police in the state have arrested two Fulani herdsmen who robbed along Owo/Oba express road.
They are Aminu Abubakar and Abubakar Umar.Vanguard gathered that they are among a six-man gang that had been terrorising travellers on the road.
Items recovered from them include five single barrel guns, one dane-gun, three cutlasses, four GSM handsets and N12,000 cash.
The case has been transferred to the Criminal Investigation Department for investigation.
Contacted, the Police image maker, Wole Ogodo, confirmed the arrest of the students and the Fulani suspects.
Ogodo said the suspects would soon be charged to court after full interrogation by the Police detectives in the state.
The image maker also said that one person was arrested for the kidnap of an 82-year-old woman, Madam Oladimeji Theresa Akindeju in Igbotako area of the state.
Ogodo said that the suspect Emeruwa Dele has confessed and mentioned three others now at large as members of the syndicate.
He pointed out that the victim has been rescued by detectives while those apprehended had been charged to court.
